Shilo A. Harris, a staff sergeant and scout with the U.S. Cavalry, is living a changed life as a wounded warrior after suffering extensive injuries in February 2007 while on his second deployment to Iraq. Since that time, he has undergone an extensive convalescence at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Harris will be a very special guest of the Wilson County Republican Women at their May 25 meeting.

Shilo Harris has little memory of the improvised explosive device that tore apart his Army carrier south of Baghdad, except that he was dimly aware that his flesh was burning.
